Abstract

This review of literature outlines the current state of knowledge on cyberbullying based on articles published online and in academic journals. Specifically, this paper describes: (a) common types of cyberbullying; (b) different technologies used for cyberbullying; (c) the proportions of school-aged victims of cyberbullying in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, and Australia; (d) the gender of cyberbullies; and (e) the emotional impact of cyberbullying. Through this exploration of current knowledge on the topic, it should be possible to identify potential solutions to this rapidly growing problem.
