Abstract

Designers are no longer limited to the printed form to present ideas and communicate messages to an audience. This presentation will explore the use of animations and interactivity in the expression of historical information and oral history accounts. The projects were made in a digital media lab and primarily created in Adobe Flash by students at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The presentation will also explore the teaching methods and techniques used in creating the interactive animations and examine the future of animations and interactivity in design education and professional practice.
