Abstract

This exploratory study describes the 146 students who received mental health services at a southern California community college through the Student Health Center located on-campus during the academic year 2010–2011. It describes the type of problems that brought students for counseling, the kind of services provided, and community referrals made following brief treatment at the health center. Additionally, students’ symptoms were measured at admission and discharge and treatment goals were rated as met, partially met, or not met. Clinical and administrative implications are explored. Areas for future research are outlined.
