Abstract

Clinical supervision is integral to successful graduate-level school counselor development. Technological advances, along with increased demands for online degree programs, have recently allowed opportunities for distance learners to seek degrees historically limited to populations with physical access to a university campus. Through the use of the internet, school counselors-in-training enrolled in distance learning programs receive mandated supervision, both individually and in groups. This paper focuses on the utilization of an emotion assessment instrument program to provide supervisors with increased opportunities to monitor and safeguard supervisee affect while providing supervision to school counselor trainees participating in distance learning programs.
