Abstract

In collaborative enterprise networks, knowledge is playing an extremely important role in the development of firms and, as well as, of the network. However, most organizational knowledge is embedded within individuals, especially within leaders and it is common difficulty to move or transfer the embedded knowledge from individual level to team or organizational level. A competence-based view allows enhancing this knowledge in a way that it can become more useful. The present paper addresses the issue of competence based-view companies and knowledge development for collaborative networks. Initially, we ran a meta-analysis research on Business Source Premier Database that results in twenty three selected papers. We analyzed these papers considering academic and managerial implications. As a resulted of this analysis, we built a theoretical model to understand how collaborative networks can be influenced considering the perspective of competence and knowledge development. Therefore, the model helps the researches in socio-organizational field and provides a tool to evaluate collaborative networks.
