Abstract

While today's architecture is based on technological designs in each aspect of building, the layout and arrangement of cities is shaping upward. The individuals' view towards life and society is turning to the sky. In fact, the axis of life formation for modern humans is a paradigmatic one in which the substitution of materials to strengthen the vertical life is of great priority. The other feature of this new method of design is scattering in which the building needs a lot of free spaces so that its technological representations can be seen from each corner and angle. On the other hand, the intuition-based architecture moved horizontally to have an earthward glance at life and lifestyle. The urban design was formed in a manner to be viewed equally by any observer. Integration of materials and humans made life more humanistic. As can be seen from the historical remnants in most regions of ancient civilizations, the buildings had a horizontal expansion to spread the domain of activities on the earth. Nothing could be added to the building except that it made the social relationship between the inhabitants closer. This paper examines the psychological effects of these two approaches of architecture and urban design.
