Abstract

This paper argues for the need to develop International Internships within Korea in order to stimulate student learning. International Internships, a form of task-based learning, are not only valuable in terms of the technical skills acquired while engaged in the task at hand, but they can also serve to enhance students’ cross cultural awareness on a variety of levels. A group of first and second year students at a community college in South Korea are surveyed to determine their perceptions on International Internships. This paper explores the findings revealed from this survey and what the findings mean in terms of the context of International Education within Korea.
