Abstract

Presentation 1: Innovation in Complexity – Prof R Pellissier Innovation and complexity are interlinked with respect to their impact on service, structure, process or product. Process innovation within a complex environment allows for excellence whilst acknowledging possibly divergent environmental, social, economic and business drivers. Presentation2: Reality Check – K Fick, J Purchase and A Van Eeden. An analysis of cases where process design and innovation were done and the lessons learnt, that lead to the identification of the need for a formal model that deals with operational excellence in complex realities and the resultant design processes. Presentation 3: Design of Resilient Organizational Structures in Complex Realities. – Dr. MM Marshall . Designing organizations that need to satisfy multiple objectives, such as delivery of strategic intent and redressing past social injustices can be done from a systems engineering perspective. The key concern is to ensure that the designed structures are resilient enough to stay relevant as a model of the organisation seen as a complex adaptive system
Conclusion: -Panel Deals with the integration and presentation of model and a critical analysis of the solution presented. It will deal with the rules of the game. This includes possible barriers to implementation and the specific focus for implementation. This entails what works and what not.
