Abstract

Modern society enjoys all the comforts brought about by advances in science and technology. Yet over the years the trust, warmth, and cohesiveness from family level to society are on the decline. Because of the feverish pace of living, the degree of indifference among people is noteworthy. Multitasking, coupled with information overload, hardly leaves any time for reflection. An onslaught of catchy commercials made possible by progress in science are inflaming greed on one hand, and tearing society apart. The paper discusses the above issues and suggests how science and society can go hand in hand with the ethical and moral values of humans in society.
