Abstract

An important amount of studies conducted in different cultures shown important differences in people’s perspective about gender. The gender issues are particularly important in primary education, influencing the student’s academic self-concept and their future career orientation. In this study I conducted a questionnaire survey investigating the primary school teacher’s perspective about girls and boys, focusing on the following dimensions: academic competence, cognitive abilities, and socio-emotional development.
