Abstract

Multinationals win shares in favor of domestic firms on the global market, including Eastern Europe. What are the forces affecting the position of multinationals versus domestic companies? How do local firms respond to the expansion of multinationals? Poland is one of the most resistant economies to withstand the negative impact of the financial crisis in Europe, and the competitiveness of domestic players is one of the main reasons behind the solid performance of Polish economy. With the strong interest of multinationals in non-alcoholic drinks, and the relatively solid position of local firms, the non-alcoholic drinks industry in Poland is the focus of this study.
