Abstract

Over the last decades a large variety of research work indicates entrepreneurship as a vital element of economic growth, social and individual success. In parallel, in international literature, special emphasis has been given on organizational culture, considering it as one of the major factors influencing entrepreneurship. Most importantly, literature recognizes innovation as a link between the above two concepts and findings show the existence of a positive relationship between entrepreneurship and organizational culture, and the development of innovation. Based on the above issues, the paper by reviewing the given literature, first, analyzes the concepts of entrepreneurship and organizational culture and, second, examines the significant relationship assigned between entrepreneurship and organizational culture with innovation. In more detail, the purpose of this study is to unveil, classify and interpret current research referring to whether Greek organizations’ entrepreneurial and organizational attitudes affect their innovation. In this respect, it compares the findings with researches regarding other nations and highlights the strong and weak points regarding innovation that Greek organizations front and explore. Concluding, the paper proposes a number of basic policies and practices that may strengthen the national and international competitive advantages of Greek innovative organizations and suggests directions for future research.
