Abstract

Using 4 public sites for this research project, my co-researcher and I set up two different strategies to gauge participant reaction to public art displays. Our passive strategy was to record reactions to art on display, the second strategy was to be involved in the creation of art as painters and have helpers record the publics reaction to our artistic endeavours. This research paper was funded by the Community and University Research Alliance, (CURA) which is funded by the Social Sciences and humanities Reseach Council of Canada. Additional funding provided by Thompson Rivers University grant issued under the Comprehensive University Enhancement Fund (CUEF). This paper was published by Artichoke magazine a Western Canadian Arts magazine, publication date, Spring 2005, volume 17, Number 1.
