Abstract

The study examined whether schools have implemented effective diversity planning for students of minority groups with respects to race, income and ability levels. The study also investigated the effects of diversity programs on student achievement of minority groups and effective programs that accommodated the needs of theses children. The study found that even though some diversity programs have helped to lower the achievement gap between children of minority groups and White students, there is still a significant achievement gap between these two groups. Also, the study found minority children do not have equal access to resources due to limited funds.
