Abstract

Successful and effective communication provides understanding and prevents disruptive behavior from occurring. Every human being has a desire for acceptance and a need for self esteem. All communication among human beings is intrapersonal, while the situation, context, and exchange of communication are interpersonal. We should not overlook the intensity of our need to understand processes of human communication in contemporary society. In this study, the author describes how successful teachers prevent problems before they start with a keen understanding of group dynamics and a strong feeling concerning the types of behavior that are deemed acceptable. The study is an exploration of how teachers can more effectively communicate with their students emotionally and spiritually: from making positive comments about students’ life and respecting students’ art work to encouraging the freedom to try new things and having empathy for the students. With an increasing concern for individual freedom and by creating an atmosphere of acceptance in the classroom, art becomes an important part of the educative process. The impact on the students will be to encourage students to achieve at their maximum potential. As a consequence, teachers empower students’ artistic creativity more effectively, unlock the potential of their students, and improve communication among all members of society.
