Abstract

This paper reports the work in process of the interaction design space of a digital interface created to exhibit online a Pre-Hispanic collection. The digital interface that is being created will be used to display online the most representative archaeological objects from ‘El Museo de Antropología de Xalapa’. This museum, located in Mexico, exhibits about 1,500 artefacts, from a total collection of 29,000, which were created by the Pre-Hispanic cultures that developed in the Gulf of Mexico, before the arrival of the Spaniards to Mexico in 1519. The paper describes the design phases that were followed for the design thinking, as well as the theory and the methods used for the development of the interaction design space. Additionally, it presents some examples of the digital interactions that are afforded in the digital interface, by presenting the design of the first digital interactive prototype.
