Abstract

This article presents the results of one case study examining the use of video tools to improve writing skills for a student with a learning disability. The study was geared to explore the effects of applying short movies and movie stories to a student with specific learning difficulties in the fourth grade to improve his writing ability. The focus in this case was on expanding the types, number, and organization of sentences. The subject of the study was a fourth-grade student who has specific learning difficulties with mild hearing loss. The number of written sentences in paragraphs was analyzed using a descriptive approach. Results confirmed that the strategy helped to improve student’s writing in the number and types of sentences, as well as in the organization of his ideas and thoughts.
