Abstract
The Learning Object Generator tool will assist teachers and students in selecting and creating shareable web resources without requiring specialized skills in instructional design and programming. Theoretically grounded in Merrill’s knowledge objects and educational modelling language (ELM), this tool focuses on building shareable learning objects. These can be adapted to audiences, and organized to form complete courses. The main program modules of are Learning Object Builder, Design Assistant, Metadata Assistant, Object Repository, and Import/Export Tool.
