Abstract

In the banking system, a good source of information will support the primary and effective decision-making at different professional person levels, such as the Board of Directors. Credit activity has always been a main income for the bank, so it needs the support and enhancement of the functional departments involved in providing and storing information. This article’s main objective is to identify factors that affect credit information quality at state-owned commercial banks in Vietnam. Simultaneously, the authors estimate each factor’s impact on the quality of credit information at those banks. A survey of 387 bankers was conducted to collect data. Based on qualitative and quantitative research methods, SPSS20 software is used to synthesize and analyze data. The results of Cronbach’s alpha, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) identify and tested four factors that affect the quality of credit information at the above commercial banks, including Timeliness, Confidentiality, Relevance, and Reliability. Based on the achieved results, the research article discusses the factors that were statistically significant in the study. Likewise, this study suggests several recommendations to improve credit information quality. The results are considered as a useful reference for Vietnamese state-owned commercial banks.
