Abstract

This paper provides the details from the workshop presented at The Ninth International Literacy and Education Research Network Conference on Learning, Beijing, The People’s Republic of China, 16-20 July 2002. In that workshop participants examined a drama plan to explore how the language of drama enables both monolingual and bilingual students to delve into and question narrative texts and at the same time actively engage with the themes and issues that emerge.
