Abstract

The cultural sector—particularly the Colombian museum sector—has evolved over the years with the intention to provide a better experience for the audience, to promote cultural ownership, and to increase the interest in culture; however, museums have some of the lowest budgets of government institutions, forcing them to find new sources for financing to satisfy their needs. Nevertheless, this situation directly affects the performance of museums depending on the amount of resources available and their goals. The present study aims to determine the statistical correlations between five parameters of organizational design of Colombian museums, considering their organizational structure and performance and finding possible causes that could affect their development to understand the relationship between them and to give some guidance.
