Abstract

This research aims to conserve and disseminate the ancient Thai wisdom of making of tamarind seed glue from cost-effective and easily procurable natural materials. Such materials are non-toxic and safe for the environment, as well as being compatible in usage with other materials. Besides its application in Thai art, tamarind seed glue may be used in contemporary styles and designs, reducing costs and increasing revenue for manufacturers to the general benefit of art. The methods of making tamarind seed glue are also easily replicable for use in schools and other academic institutions. This may open up new course pathways to students, promoting awareness and knowledge of such historical techniques. A renewed interest in tamarind seed glue may revitalize this ancient Thai wisdom and preserve it for future generations.
