Abstract

Colours have a crucial role in our life, becoming a direct-indirect driving force of humans’ identity, emotion, appreciation, creativity. Understanding colour as treasure transcends us to the other realm. Indonesia is situated in Southeast Asia. As the fourth most populated country in the world, the country has a variety of conflicts due to natural catastrophe, poverty, corruption, religious conflicts, etc. Moreover, despite their creative and artistic talents, for me, Indonesians are complicated, not logical, passive, and reluctant in thinking which hinder their better life. Therefore, the researcher developed a 4-clover leaf pattern (fortune) which anyone can put their creativity and logical thinking by using colour. The pattern can also imply the same symbolism among Hindu-Buddhism (cosmos), Christianity (cross), Islam (oneness), and others (4 elements) which can encourage mutual understanding and open dialogues. The empirical research took place during her residence in Indonesia (2003-7), visiting different places, mostly Java. Particularly, this paper discusses of the Atma Jaya Hsopital employees, focusing on their emotions, reflections, and solutions in their life journey.
