Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of analogy on Tenth-grade students’ attitude in chemistry. A random sample consisted of 478 students selected among the total number of 5320 tenth-grade intact classes (eight classes consisted of only male and the other eight of only female classes). Lesson plans were redesigned to fit the integration of analogy to teach seven chemistry concepts. The research design was a pre- and post-test quasi experimental design. An attitude instrument used and its validity and reliability were determined. Results indicated that experimental group scored significantly higher than their counterpart in the control group in the chemistry attitude instrument.
