Abstract

The purpose of this article is to suggest the integration of information seeking skills in the schools’ to build an effective teaching and learning environment in higher secondary school. Section one of this article will address the definition and development of the term information seeking skills. Section two will explore the need for student information seeking skills in contemporary society where knowledge is increasingly becoming the primary source of power. Finally, section three will be devoted to the discussion of how diffusion of information will assist in the implementation of information seeking skills in schools with collaboration with the school resource center and the subject teachers.
