Abstract

In this paper, the authors address developing an ethics curriculum for K-12 school leaders and classroom teachers. The course, offered in a faith-based institution, includes a Christian perspective as well as other points of view for K-12 public schooling. The purpose of the course is to provide K-12 leaders (principals and other administrators) as well as classroom teachers with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions for creating ethical/moral instructional environments where all students are able to succeed and achieve their full potential. The authors also discuss the definition of ethical leadership as well as explore the characteristics of morally responsive educational leaders and teachers, and their role and impact on school environments in terms of cultural diversity, equity, and social justice.
