Abstract

Management orientated literature on contemporary race equality at work in the UK is, arguably, implicitly connected to postmodernism. By making the connections explicit, an explanation for the rhetoric-reality divide can be formulated. The basis of the proffered explanation is that race equality policies are simular words that feign reality to employees who often experience racial inequality at work. Policies, in short, constitute verisimilitude in that they are truth-like but not truthful.
