Abstract

This curriculum can be used by schools and teachers world-wide much in the same way as the Holocaust Curriculum is currently used with children in the U.S.A. and Canada. The Jewish migration during biblical times is usually what we associate with diaspora. This curriculum goes beyond that moment in history to a contemporary diaspora that includes people from all of the continents in the world. The curricular information, teaching and learning strategies, content & resources, interdisciplinary approaches, curricular integration, archival documents and curricular highlights will be shared within the paper. This serves the dialogue in the humanities as it sets a renewed agenda for teaching about marginalized people in the world who have had to flee their countries of origin to establish new roots elsewhere. It speaks to the value of their cultural and linguistic contributions traditions that to their countries of adoption.
