Jada Riley’s Updates
Upddate cause of revolutionary war (Proclamation of 1763)
The London government made a proclamation in order to maintain peace between the indians and the colonists. The proclamation said that colonial settlement in the West Appalichain Mountains was unacceptable and that how it would only be reserved for the indians. The colonists were concerned about this because that meant there couldn be more colonist coming and settling on a vast amount of land. Actually the American government did do something. George washington ignored the policy and ordered his agents to purchase the land which lead to the westward expansion. But if that wasn´t to happen, I think government may have appeased the people. Because it is clear they had no respect for the indians.
@jacob, let's try to be more concise with your comment here - what is your ultimate point with regard to the gov't to build on Jada's update?
@jada think about how the government would interact with its people's territorial demands and desires to seek economic opportunity
I believe that this proclamation may have been something good that may have affected a lot of Native Americans. Though it was ignored it may have changed the way history worked if it was not ignored in the firs place. Lots of things could have changed and maybe lots of lives would have been saved too. I'm not saying it was a good thing to ignore it, but neither is it good to not ignore it, because i haven't lived in both timelines but only one so I only know what it's like to live in one.
