Hello Everyone,

My name is Jacob Ashby and I currently live in Myersville, MD which is just outside of the Washington DC and Baltimore areas. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Shippensburg University, a Master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University, and a Doctorate in Education with a focus in Organizational Leadership in Higher Education from Shenandoah University.I currently work at Frederick Community College and although I have had a fruitful career there I am starting to itch for my next adventure. I would be content if this opportunity came at Frederick Community College, but like many higher education institutions folks often find opportunity elsewhere before they find it within. In terms of technology, I completed my Master's program online, teach online courses in the business areas, manage a few online technologies for the College and so I think I should be fairly comfortable navigating this as we progress through our learning. I have found that my best experiences both as a learner and educator in the e-learning environment come when there is alignment from learning outcomes, to instructional materials, to assessments, etc. I recently took a Quality Matters Peer Reviewer Course and think the QM principles/rubric could effectively be used to improve courses both face-to-face and online just through structured peer feedback and reflection. I signed up for this course because I was overseeing our institutions Center for Teaching and Learning at one point and wouldn't mind the opportunity to oversee the area again. In thinking about that, I thought this might be a nice opportunity to refresh some of my knowledge around learning based on content created by experts in the field. I look forward to what I will learn as I progress and the opportunity to learn from you all.
