Rhode Island STEAM Center

The Rhode Island STEAM Center represents the entire state as a central educational hub and statewide resource focused on building partnerships and advocating for increased STEAM literacy.  Established in 2009 as the Rhode Island STEM Center, our name was officially changed to the STEAM Center to better reflect the work that we do.

One of the STEAM center’s initiatives is the Rhode Island STEAM Now Coalition (est. 2014), a broad alliance of 350+ individuals representing business, education, and government that is working to develop a STEAM-literate population who will possess the skills to become productive citizens in the 21st century.  The continuing success of the STEAM Now Coalition is based on four principles: 1) Mechanisms are needed for resolving issues and challenges; 2) Decisions must be based on consensus through a transparent process; 3) Continual assessment of the structure and governance is required and there must be a willingness to change if necessary; and 4) Diverse experience and expertise is paramount.

I am always interested in connecting with others who are pursuing the same goals.
