Abdul Bhuiya’s Updates

Week 1 Journal

First of all, I would like to say that I loved the structure of the course. This is because I am not only learning from the lecture content, but also learning a lot more from the posts of my peers in the ENG 298 Scholar community. I feel this kind of learning allows me to look at an issue or a concept from different perspectives and gain a holistic understanding of the topic in review.

I learnt about some new determinants of health which I had not considered before, which was great to know. I learnt about how WHO asseses the health status of a particular area, and how that can be applied to which areas needs most help and what sorts of help they need. I am excited to learn more about the conditions of Sierra Leone and the partnership of Sierra Leone with this university. I hope I can learn from peers in the upcoming weeks and also provide different perspectives to teach them something.
