The objective of the research is to establish the relationship between the concept of ruin in some cases of Latin American photography between 1990 and 2010. The ruin will be understood conceptually taking into account three aspects: The ruin as a vestige of the past in the present, the ruin as evidence of the transitoriness of urban constructions and ruin as a way to problematize the idea of progress.
