Meet one of our plenary speakers for the Twenty-second International Conference on New Directions in the Humanities!

Massimo Fusillo is Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of L’Aquila (Italy), where he is Coordinator of the PhD Program on Literatures Arts Media: The Transcodification. He is President of the Italian Association of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature; chair of the Research Committee on Literatures Arts Media (CLAM) of the International Association of Comparative Literature (ICLA); and member of the Academia Europaea. Among his recent publications: Empatia negativa (with Stefano Ercolino), Bompiani, 2022; Mapping the Baroque Mediascape and its Legacy in Contemporary Culture, in The Palgrave Handbook of Intermediality (with M. Petricola), 2023; The Fetish. Literature, cinema, visuality, Bloomsbury, 2017.
