Flipped Classroom

Flipped Classroom

The flipped classroom methodology is a good example of active learning. Videos or self-learning modules are shared for learning basics from home and the precious class time is utilized for active collaborative learning.

The need for flipped classroom arose because it was felt that basic knowledge can be made available out of class instead of using up precious in class time. The class time can be utilized optimally with collaborative, active learning that will be more application based.

With collaboration and active learning there are different perspectives that come out which leads to better understanding.

In my experience this also leads to increase in confidence in students as they know not only understand the topic but also were able to contribute to the collaboration.
