Essential Update #5: Microsoft 365 Community and Collaboration Platform

The collaborative intelligence concept which I chose to define and bring example is community and collaboration tools. According to Wikipedia definition, the purpose of a collaboration tool is to support a group of two or more individuals to accomplish a common goal or objective.

There is a specific group of these tools which are collaborative software and applications which can bring wide collaboration capabilities to organizations. They embody different features, messenger and project management tools are one of the basics for organizations, and the trend is that new and new features are being incorporated.

There is a huge variety of these community and collaboration tool products and the world of collaboration platforms changes fast. Huddle, Stride, Slack are just a couple of the big names, but Wikipedia lists a whole directory of tools and offers a comparison of them. link

An example of a community and collaboration platform is Microsoft 365 which like all powerful collaborations platforms embeds several collaboration tools for example: it includes SharePoint a document management and storage system, Online team a tool which as their website says is designed for managing meeting needs by integrating online team meetings, live streaming or dialing in a call, and communication sites Yammer used for private communication within organizations, Skype for Business an instant messaging tool, as well as Office 365 Groups a shared workspace for email, conversations, files, and events where group members can collectively get stuff done.

The unquestionable benefit of these tools and platforms are that they create the space and opportunity for members of a community to share and resource information with low effort, and eases the process of collaboration in collectively creating artifacts using the support of the community's earlier created conceptual resources without the challenges of physical distances.
