e-Learning Ecologies MOOC’s Updates
Submitting Case Study Rough Draft
I submitted my Case Study Rough Draft under "Submissions" but I now have a notification that I needed to "Publish" an assignment. Can anyone help? I'm really not feeling this scholar platform...
PS - Don't get me wrong, please. I am grateful for the experience. This has taught me a great deal. However, I am concerned about outcomes. Peer reviews can be challenging... I wonder how many students will cut corners in the review due to the complexity of the site?
I believe that the site could be simplified a great deal. The lessons outlined in the lesson don't seem to follow in the design of the site. A non or semi committed student would leave and would not even know why. The language and functionality of the site does not comport with the greater language and functionality of the web. Google thinks for me. They can anticipate my next move. I don't need an owner's manual or have to watch a video. They know that time is my most valuable asset. Google designs for the way my eyes move, my hands move, for the way I think. I don't have to figure it out. I had to figure out Web 1.0. I had to worry about the blue screen of death. Web 3.0 has me figured out. I merge with it. If my syntax is questionable, it questions me, and if I make a mistake it corrects me, shows me alternatives, and/or allows me to correct myself.
I found the UI is extremely hard to follow..Coursera, NovoEd, Udemy, Iversity every other platform has a appealing UI but this is not user friendly at all..
1. The font in the screen extremely small.. why there is a huge gap between the screen - u should have used that..
2. Terms creator publisher ect are very ambiguous I spent many hours just to learn how to start a thread.. or simply wanting to start a conversation..
3. Replying a post should support with multimode- fonts, pictures, videos, quote marks, bullets ect...
Now, I got success of Case study update. Please, let me know your remarks ! Tks !
All feedback on Scholar UI is greatly appreciated - it is a work-in-progress and we are very grateful for feedback from people who are here because they are interested to explore a new generation of what we call 'social knowledge' ecologies. There are many differences between Scholar and Coursera, including different forms of feedback (reviews, annotations, recommendations), feedback during the writing process, publication to a web portfolio etc. We're aiming to do something that is different from, and complements, Coursera.
I agree that Scholar is not very intuitive. People don't like to read long instructions, they just want it to work. So far I can't see the advantage of using this above Coursera, apart from experiencing the frustration of something that is well intended, but not really easy to work with. I guess this is what happens to lots of users of technology. Maybe something to include in our case studies...
Ok, got it! Thanks!
@ Eric.
Hi Eric,
Please, let me know the reason of your confusion. You can send me a Message! :)
Hi Kristen,
This happened because you haven't followed the instructions for submission. You received a Notification with a Work Request. Clicking on that Notification will lead you to the space where you have to write your case study (or paste it, if you have written it with another editor). This Notification also informs the path of this process. Below, I pasted the Notification:
You have received a work request from e-Learning Ecologies MOOC. An empty work has been created for you and can be found in your works list. Please open the work, change the title, and begin a first draft. If you don't find the work in your works list, refresh the page to reload its contents. You should look in the Tools=>Project=>Description tab for further project information and when you are finished editing, you can submit the work from the Tools=>Project=>Status tab.
For more instructions, please read Jason Berg's update Submitting Case Study.
Please, let us know if you need further instructions. We are looking forward to reading your case study!
I too am confused.
