Educational Blogs

Blogs are a distinctive method to stimulate the process of integrating technology into the curriculum in the classroom because they resemble personal notebooks, which is an easy form that students can deal with simply, and gives them the necessary space for expression and creativity, especially since there are many websites that allow them to have their own blog so that they can continue learning outside the walls of the classroom at any time and at any time, which improves their learning outcomes.

Origin and Spread:

Although blogs arose around the mid-nineties of the twentieth century, and although the term blog was coined in 1997, the phenomenon of blogs was not published on the Internet until after 1999, as hosting services began to allow beneficiaries to create their own blogs relatively quickly and easily.

The concept of blogging:

Herzog (2005) defines it as "a web page containing brief entries and recordings arranged in a given chronological order, which serves as a daily record of the presentation and narration of facts, especially with regard to new news, or to link to some other website."

Educational blogs can be defined as "a mini-newspaper edited by the teacher as a blogger on the web, consisting of various educational publications or specific to a specific educational topic, and containing the latest articles or research in the field of specialization that are employed to serve the educational content of the curriculum, and are often arranged chronologically in reverse, i.e. the modern intervention comes at the top of the blog page, followed by the rest of the blogs according to historical seniority."

Benefits of blogging in education:

Educational blogs are powerful interactive technological tools useful for both teachers and students, and Al-Ghamdi and Salem (2011) and Matar (2007) show that blogs have many benefits in the educational process:
