Ubiquitous Learning and Instructional Technologies MOOC’s Updates

Make an Update: Find an example of a learning technology, which genuinely makes a difference to the dynamics of learning. Describe it, and analyze the ways in which it makes a difference.

My choice for learning technology is based upon my experience as an elementary school teacher. Even though Google Drive was not designed exclusively as learning technology, I found it to be an invaluable educational tool for my students and myself. As a technological learning tool, Google Drive provides a platform to student to construct their own knowledge base and as a progress documenting and monitoring portal. It also provides the ability to work collaboratively with other learners. All types of knowledge can be organized and archived for later reference. Learners can construct and create works based upon the information within their Google Drive account and share it with permissioned fellow learners. Learners can also be given access to accounts of peers and instructors to broaden their cache of resources.

I have used Google Drive to document activities in class including documents, photo’s, and video’s for students to share with their parents. I created a new Google account every year for my new class. I shared prior year’s documents with current year. Google Drive is my virtual file cabinet, portfolio, and sharing portal, creating a time capsule of my instructive practices over the years.
