The study exposes the newest plan of one of the Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation projects concerning the creation of cultural park and creative hub. Quantitative and qualitative methods of research were used. The result shows that the new hub and park will serve as shelter, place of relaxation, and a venue for cultural and heritage preservation of the residents nearby.

Green Thumb - Natural and Built Environment Act View Digital Media

Paper Presentation in a Themed Session
Nenita Tuazon

The study proposes the possibility of enacting a Natural and Built Act in the Philippines, which aims to foster sustainable development and conservation of our environment under the threat of climate change. In integrating internationally accepted ecological and environmental principles in urban planning, land use, and wildlife protection, this proposed law will strike a balance between human activities and healthy environment. It introduces measures to safeguard biodiversity, promote green infrastructure, and mitigate the impacts of climate change. The study explores a future where cities and communities thrive with nature harmoniously through a well-defined legal framework by requiring the development of natural and built environmental plan for land use and environmental management.

Paper Presentation in a Themed Session
Cyrelle Austria

The emergence of technology and its universal proliferation has opened a Pandora’s box of possibilities. As technology rapidly emerges as a speedy and cost-effective way of conducting business and activities, it also increases the number of initiatives to transition to the virtual world. The internet promises to be a more economical, influential and global medium of culture and heritage preservation. The study evaluates the impact of the intersection of real and virtual spaces in the preservation of cultural heritage, the challenges and opportunities posed by transforming physical artefacts to virtual representations, examining how technology can enhance access, conservation, and experience. The study takes into consideration the possible effects on existing museums, archaeology, and cultural and heritage agencies, aiming to explore the evolving landscape where our rich history marries with the virtual realm. The result contributes to a comprehensive understanding of virtual spaces with respect to heritage preservation, and the potential of virtual spaces at the present time, and outlines theoretical, practical, and future research recommendations.
