Green Thumb - Natural and Built Environment Act

Abstract

The study proposes the possibility of enacting a Natural and Built Act in the Philippines, which aims to foster sustainable development and conservation of our environment under the threat of climate change. In integrating internationally accepted ecological and environmental principles in urban planning, land use, and wildlife protection, this proposed law will strike a balance between human activities and healthy environment. It introduces measures to safeguard biodiversity, promote green infrastructure, and mitigate the impacts of climate change. The study explores a future where cities and communities thrive with nature harmoniously through a well-defined legal framework by requiring the development of natural and built environmental plan for land use and environmental management.
