Literacies Education in Brazil: Emerging Practices and Social Transformation View Digital Media
Colloquium Eliane Fernandes Azzari, Eduardo Moura, Danielle Ramos, Walkyria Monte Mór
Literacies studies have expanded in school and university scenarios. Studies, practices, and field investigations based on literacies education - multiliteracies, new literacies, and critical literacies – have been designed for research besides educational programs in different Brazilian regions. Such proposals have shown great affinity with the Freirean premises of critical education, agency and citizenship in Brazil, having brought fresh air in the revision of education and pedagogies that entail equity issues. Taking the opportunity for academic exchange offered by the Conference, this colloquium reviews innovative educational projects and research produced in Brazil in terms of their potential for social and academic transformations, as a way to share and debate perspectives with colleagues from different cultural contexts/environments.
