I just found this update from the FAO on global avian influenza updates. Take a look at maps 1 and 2 on the link below. It is incredible how many more cases there have been especially in Europe since last October compared to the year before. So far the Americas have been spared.

The new report comes out at the end of this month -- I am almost afraid to look. How challenging would it be to respond to more than one zoonotic disease pandemic at once? What would happen to our ability to do diagnostics for two diseases with similar clinical signs? The avian flu outbreaks are happening in high, low, and middle income countries just like COVID.
