Yuying Tsong is an Associate Professor in the Human Services Department at California State University, Fullerton. Her research and clinical areas of interests include multicultural counseling and supervision, disordered eating/body image concerns, and Asian American mental health, particularly in the areas of immigration and adjustment, transnational family’s bi-cultural adaptation process, and help seeking attitudes and behaviors. Yuying is currently the President-Elect of the Society for the Psychology of Women (American Psychological Association Division 35). She is a co-editor of a special issue on Trauma and Psychology Well-being of Asian American Women for the journal of Women and Therapy. Yuying’s recent work focuses on (1) the role of bicultural distress in Asian American women disordered eating and (2) Chinese and Taiwanese American and Vietnamese American older adults’ mental health literacy and help seeking behaviors and attitudes. She is the recipient of the 2014 Emerging Professional Contributions to Service Award from APA Division 45 Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity, and Race, the 2017 Distinguished Pioneer Award from APA Division 35 Section 5 Psychology of Asian Pacific American Women, and a Fellow of the Asian American Psychological Association.
