Wim Zeiler studied Mechanical Engineering (Design and construction; Methodical Design) at the Technische Universiteit Twente. In 1983 he started as a technical policy co-operator. Later he became establishment manager and adjunct-director of Kropman Rijswijk. In 1998 he became an adjunct-director Knowledge Transfer and Technology Development. In technology development he worked together with ECN Petten, ATO Wageningen, TU Delft, Universiteit Twente and TNO Building Research Delft. In 1991 he was awarded the CAPE-(Computer Applications for Production and Engineering)-award of the CIAD (Society for Computerapplications in the Engineeringspractice) . For his publications he was awarded the B.J.Max award of the TVVL ( Dutch society for Building Services in the Built Environment) in 1994. Within the TVVL he was member and chairman of the steering committee Klimaattechniek and member of the Technical council for nine years. Currently he is chairman of the department Elektrotechniek and member of the editorial board of the TVVL magazine. He is member of the supervisory board of ISSO.After being lecturer at the Haagse Hogeschool, from 1996 till 1998, he was a visiting assistant professor at the faculty of Architecture of the TU Delft from 2000 till 2003. In 2001 he became professor Building Services at the faculty of Architecture at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. His main research topics are Integral Design and Sustainable Energy in the Built Environment.
