LEE Wing Ki is a visual artist and a researcher in photography based in Hong Kong. His research interests focus on photography and grassroots democracy, photographic magazine in the 20th Century Hong Kong, and memorial photography in the Chinese context. His writings appear in Trans-Asia Photography Review, ISEA Conference, transmediale, exhibition catalogue of Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Voices of Photography, Chinese Photography and others. He read History of Art at the University of Hong Kong and received a MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, supported by a British Chevening Scholarship. He is also a photographer and visual artist. His artistic practice lies between documentary photography, archival research and narration. His photography projects were exhibited in Austria, Germany, Hong Kong, Latvia, Taiwan and the UK. ‘Tsang’s Odyssey,’ one of his documentary photography project, is selected as a Finalist for the WMA Masters Award (2017). He is currently an Assistant Professor (Photography) and the acting Undergraduate Programme Director at the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University.
