  I am a BA-qualified Social Worker with study and work experience in five different countries. I am currently doing a PhD in Sociology at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. My research interests include social gerontology, the life course approach and labor market experiences. In particular, my doctoral thesis focuses on factors associated with prolonged working lives of elderly adults in Chile. Even though this topic is not new in many developed countries, especially in Europe, it is still an under-researched area in South America in general and in Chile in particular. Moreover, in my research I am keen to use both quantitative and qualitative research methods as I have vast experience in using different software programs, including SPSS, Stata, R, as well as Atlas.ti. From a more personal point of view, it is worth mentioning that as a result of my nearly 10 years academic trajectory in five different countries I can now speak four foreign languages (plus my native Lithuanian language) and I can easily adapt to multicultural educational and work environments. Finally, I enjoy working individually as well as contributing to team's ideas and outcomes.
