  Dr. Ingrid E. Schneider teaches and does research on the human dimensions of natural resources with an emphasis in outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism at the University of Minnesota, Department of Forest Resources. Schneider's research focuses on consumer behavior with an emphasis on visitor experiences and constraints to those experiences. Schneider works with destinations and organizations around the globe to inform management and planning. Schneider is a Professor, elected Fellow of The Academy of Leisure Studies, and former editor of the Journal of Leisure Research, as well as former director of the University's Tourism Center (2003-2015).
