  I majored in Athletics and sports science in college. My best sports were short distance running and high jump. I have taught advanced physical educaiton classes at Suzhou Vocational University since 1982. In between I got my advanced degrees in sports science in 2000 and 2010. In China physical education classes are required for students at all levels, from elementary to college. However, outside the physical ed classes, ordinary people do not often do exercises, and sports are usually considered as the pursuits of profesional athletes sponsored by the state. My passion has been to promote sports as a recreational and a health enhancing activity for the general public. I have done several projects promoting this idea, and especially promoting sports to regions where people have little access to sports facilities, the countryside.
