  I have worked in the New Zealand Health sector for 30 years intially as a social worker in health of older people and mental health. From clinical work I moved into management roles managing allied health and support services in two hospitals in NZ. I developed an interest in organisation development and moved into human resource roles in health and justice sectors of NZ public sector. My interest in aged care has been strong and for five years I managed a large aged residential aged care facility,in Wellington which  provides rest home, hospital and secure dementia care. During this time I became interested in the caregiver workforce and their role in providing care to an increasing number of frail elderly people. I embarked on my part-time PhD study at Otago University, (Wellington Campus) in 2014 and am currently wrttitng up my thesis. I live in Martinborough, a wine village in South Wairarapa.
